Distribution Box

The distribution box evenly distributes wastewater into the leach field.  Sewer gases can erode the concrete distribution boxes which can result in drain field failure.  If you find you are needing a pump out sooner than every 3 years, you may need a new distribution box.

Some septic systems are retrofitted with a sewer pump.  The most common types are an effluent pump and a grinder pump.   Most have an alarm to indicate pump failure.  If your system is backing up it may be the pump to blame.
